Summer To-Do’s

Summer Wishlist Cruiser Bike

I think I wrote one of these posts last year and quite frankly I was looking forward to the days til I could finally start dreaming of a Summer wishlist! Which is a bit silly.  It was only last week we were still getting snow in Laramie.  But with a spell of warm weather + a trip to Cali this weekend, Summer seems to be especially on my mind.

It’s a season that is always a bit crowded for me, without adding any more to-do’s.  But it’s also my favorite! Birthday, family reunions, and endless excuses to drink wine on my patio are just a few of my favorites. So a Summer wishlist seems perfectly fitting.

Read at least 5 books// At first I was just taking my sweet time with Chasing Slow, prolonging a read I was loving… but now I’ve gotten just lazy.  I really want to get back into the book reading habit. And I think five will be quite an easy to-do with back to back beach vacations.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Try snorkeling// This has been on my list quite some time and with a trip to Mexico it seemed like the perfect summer to get it checked off!

I’m actually quite scared of open waters. Like deep, deep blues.  Even the underwater photos make me a bit squeamish and I really want to at least conquer some of this fear and try snorkeling. Maybe next summer I’ll tackle scuba diving 😉

Collect 2 more prints for my print shop//  Ok ideally I want unlimited photos to choose from, but I’ll settle for two.  I’m hoping to finally open up a print shop this summer and will keep you updated with all the dates!

Stay in touch// Lots of changes will be happening soon. And while I can feel quite overwhelmed, I know that staying in touch is going to be a top priority for me.

Try surfing//Ok, granted this one wasn’t really a goal until two weeks ago, but this was L’s activity of choice in Cali.  While I’m more of a wine drinking, cheese plate, beach book reader, L is much more of an action packed person. Oy. I’ll have to let you know how it goes!

Keep going with BBG// I’ve mentioned this in passing before, but I’ve really been loving Kayla Itsine’s fitness guide. I started mine a bit differently than some. I actually hit my magical weight number that I decided would make me happy with my body. And guess what? I still wasn’t happy.  It’s been 11 weeks and I’ve gained 5 lbs and can now do full sets of push ups compared to the one measly push up I started out with.

I really like having a body that can do more than just hit a number on the scale.

T r a v e l// Honestly this probably isn’t a fair Summer to-do because I’m always up for some new travel. Summer or not.  But with as much as I’ll be doing here in just a short couple of months, I’m a bit excited for it. I’ve never been to Mexico and only out of the US once, volunteering in a small village in Honduras, so I feel like this time I’ll be a true tourist.  We will be at a big resort, but for some of our time I convinced L to stay at this smaller, yet just as gorgeous locally owned hotel. I  cannot. wait.

Appreciate the little things// Ugh! Excuse the coyness but I can’t tell exactly what I’ll be trying to appreciate, but I want to start looking for the good. I want to find the joy in the little and the not perfetct. Even among the harder than most days.

New swimsuit// One of my biggest motivators for this summer was completing BBG so I could get a new swimmy.  Maybe not the best habit of less, but it has also kept me from purchasing because I know I’ll eventually get too.

I’ve been trying to keep an eye out, but what suits are you loving this year?

Parental trip// I have so many travels lined up with friends and L, but I really want to go on a trip with just my parents.  We do a cross country trip one every summer, but I would  l o v e  to go somewhere new for all of us.

It might happen this year… but I’m keeping this on my list mainly as a reminder.

More film photos// I posted my first film post  s o  l o n g  ago and never really followed up with it… Oops.  I have been taking photos with my film camera, but never developed them. But no mas! I’ll be sharing my film snaps soon enough and even starting a film travel diaries series.  It’s such a great way to sort of slow down and be more in the moment.

Summer Wishlist

I feel as though I’m forgetting about so many other plans I had, but that list is plenty long! Because while I want to get everything checked off, I also want to, you know,  enjoy this season I’ve been longing for.

What about you? What are your Summer plans??
