Vintage art is definitely having it’s spotlight and I have to say I’m loving it! I’m often asked on Instagram where I get vintage-inspired pieces that are different than the typical retail prints you see in Big Box stores. Luckily, online print shops have really grown and expanded their range to include vintage art.

It’s in the details. Or that’s the saying anyways! It’s not a huge secret around here that I preferred remodeling a house over building one. There’s something about lived-in details that always feel cozier than new. Luckily, with the help of a few great vendors you can find hardware that looks as though it was there long before you lived in your home.

I feel as though the title of this post is a bit misleading. Because rolling up your sleeves and building your own house puts you squarely in a save category and not a splurge one. That being said I do feel like there were areas where we allocated our budget more to one side than the other. No matter where you are in the building process (dreaming, saving, framing) you’ll come up against your budget. It’s just the way construction works.

Saying that we are set to be in the third month of 2017 is just absolutely crazy.  Granted February is a shorter month so I shouldn’t be so shocked it came and went so fast. And as always I like to look back over the posts I published and try to find a favorite.  Holy […]

I certainly wasn’t planning for this week to be all about less… but it sort of turned out that way didn’t it??  I think lately that’s just where my mindset has been..  I have a mental list of all the purchases I want to make next and have been trying to limit any and all […]

While I do love writing posts to help you bring the best of the best beauty or skincare bits,  one trend I’ve been loving more and more is this idea of  l e s s. Last year I dedicated my entire year to ‘less.’  And after twelve months I had less thoughtless spending and more living. […]

This setup has been in the works for quite some time.  I had been using the same $10 painted desk the last seven years for a makeshift vanity and while that absolutely served it’s purpose, and worked for many years, it wasn’t something I ultimately loved.  Plus, it was so  l a r g e  I […]

Somehow we have found ourselves now fully in the ‘new year.’ With as many up’s and down’s as my month faced, our world seemed to have faced just as many, if not more. While I’ve been mainly quiet and thoughtful about all the events happening, I’ve also tried to focus on how I can help […]

I’ve never really considered myself to be very fashionable.  I’m much more content saying I know my own style.  Simplicity and classic feminine lines have always dominated my closet.  Plus, for years “statement” pieces never seemed to be something my closet needed, as my go to uniform was jeans and an unique shirt.  But slowly I’ve realized […]

I was struggling a bit on how to welcome this New Year.  Last year I knew exactly what I wanted out of 2016 and that was less stuff, more living.  And while that is a goal I think I’ll forever strive towards, I also want to allow myself to grow and not keep the exact […]
