Staycation Luxury at the Sacajawea Hotel

Sacajwea Hotel Three Folks Montana

Last weekend I was lucky enough to be invited out to Three Forks to stay at the charming and historic Sacajawea Hotel.  Only a quick thirty minute drive for L and I, it was the chance to escape and get in a ‘staycation.’   Typically when I travel I make much longer hauls, like traveling to Mexico or even to the beach for our annual family reunion.  So an escape to a smaller, local town is something I really haven’t taken advantage of.

The Sacajawea Hotel is a bit notorious in our part of Montana.  Though for the majority of you it’s the first time you’ve heard of it!   It’s a one hundred year hotel that makes historians and Instagrammers a-like “oh” and “ah.”  White siding and even cuter cottages, that were added this year, make it a gem in the Gallatin Valley.

One thing that has always made me nervous blogging about an experience with a hotel is wondering if I’m treated any differently. It’s hard enough to suggest skincare bits, much less reviews on where you should spend your hard earned vacation.

Luckily, the Sacajawea Hotel is easy to fall for, blogger or not.

Every single guest is welcomed with a warm lavender scented towel, as well as, a delicious glass of chardonnay.  L and I couldn’t help but smile and toast each other once we lugged our suitcases up the antiqued staircase.  I’m not sure if there is anything more rewarding than glass of good ( f r e e ) bubbly!

After relaxing and snapping some quick photos, we eventually left our hotel room to go and explore.  L was actually born in Three Forks so it was fun driving around and seeing bits of memory lane!  Three Forks is a very small Montana town, as it doesn’t take up much more than three blocks, though truth be told I prefer it that way.  I grew up in a small town and there is such a since of pride when I say we had three traffic lights total.

We were lucky enough to get a reservation at the hotel’s restaurant, Pompey’s Grill and enjoy one of the best steaks we’ve ever been served.  In fact, all of our food was so good we ate our way into a bit of a food coma and almost missed the band that played at the bar. Oops!

And after staying out  dancing to the band, we were excited to take full advantage of the complimentary breakfast in bed the hotel serves.

Once again this is a simple luxury The Sacajawea Hotel offers to a l l  of their guests and it’s the sort of thing made me feel that much more pampered and welcomed than a simple breakfast bar.   Needless to say the hotel made it entirely to hard to leave.

Staying at The Sacajawea Hotel turned into such a luxurious staycation!

I assumed that it would be good to step away from to-do lists for even just a night. But I’m not sure if I imagined feeling quite so rested afterwards!  If you are ever traveling through Montana and enjoy breakfast in bed (or historic hotels) you have to make sure you book a night at the Sacajawea Hotel.

I would love to hear how many of you have actually ever visited Montana?? Our state seems to be getting more and more popular so it’s fun hearing what people have visited before!
