What I Packed for Mexico

Bags All packed

It feels so good to be back here clacking away. I completely meant to blog while we were on vacation in Mexico but the move to a new state threw me for quite a loop!  We didn’t have a dishwasher or stove in our apartment in Montana and were living in a sea of boxes, all while packing our bags for a vacation. It felt so odd.

And it felt even weirder trying to pack my well loved closet into a suitcase destined for  85 degree heat.

My impressive collection of sweaters I knew would do little good on the beach.  Though rather than buy everything I had sitting in my Asos shopping cart… I slowed down.  And started to pick out pieces that would cut it in the heat and only invest in what I truly needed.

Beach Style

White Denim Mini Dress // Peplum  Top // Fernweh Home Eden Bag

Huarache sandals (old from American Eagle) // Similar

Toms platforms // Gigi Pip Seagrass Hat //  Blue Striped Midi Dress

Midi skirt (old from H&M ) // similar

Aerie One Piece Swimsuit

ShopLoveStreet High Waisted Bikini Bottoms + Off the Shoulder Swimsuit

White button down shirt (old from Loft) // similar

Off the shoulder dress (old from Shopruche) // similar

I really liked having pieces that fit effortlessly together.

But I love having pieces that will work beyond poolside in Mexico.

There isn’t one item I brought along I know I won’t use over and over again. Though it’s true the swimsuits will have to be for warm weather only, everything else can be easily woven into my closet.  The white denim dress is a piece I wore over and over again. Plus it looks just as good with a shirt under it for a more acceptable business wear.

What do you love to pack when you head to a warmer climate?
